RICHMOND POWER STATION
The Richmond Power Station began generating electricity on the banks of the Delaware River in 1925. Richmond was a technological and architectural marvel with a grand exterior and a massive turbine hall. The 130′ ceilings were shelter to many turbines including the world’s largest Westinghouse turbo-generator which was added in 1935. Since closing in 1985 the plant has seen its most activity as a movie set for various tv shows and films including 12 Monkeys, Transformers 2 and The Last Airbender.
