DC General Hospital is part of a much larger campus known as “Reservation 13″ which also includes the DC Jail and Correctional Treatment facility, medical clinics, various medical offices and workspaces. The main buildings of DC General Hospital were constructed in the 1930′s and 1940′s but history can be traced back to the mid 1800s when the site was known as “Hospital Square” and home to the Washington Asylum.Currently most of Reservation 13 is vacant and the DC government is seeking a developer to transform the 67 acre site into a mix of offices, health facilities, housing and parkland.
