    Default Abandoned Island?

It's not off topic but I didn't know where else to put it. Found this link on flickr, it's got some great images and an awesome tale behind it. Check it out.

Those are GREAT photos and the history of the island is so interesting. It seems that there are a lot of abandoned places in Japan - which is so strange considering it's so crowded in the urban areas and has very finite space available to them.

I'd love to visit that island. But somehow the prospect of learning to man a boat and sneaking around in a country where I don't speak the language isn't very promising.

Yea it's amazing how there are a fair amount of abandoned buildings in a land where space is at a premium. I tried to find some places but not knowing the language doesn't make it easy. The Japanese also can be very closed so trying to get them to fess up the location of that island would be tough.

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."
