Default To Pay or Not To Pay? Question

    1. If an owner has an abandoned place that is still full of the history, items, etc.. would you pay to take photos for a few hours? If the money goes to helping the owner maintain the structure? A place full of history.

    2. Or would you skip it......

    3. Or would you make your way gently in?

    Just courious ......

$75.00 for 5 hours of free reign

    or

$100.00 for 4 hours of guided and watched.

Two different places and I would love to hear what you all think.

    Thanks!

It would depend on the place.

    ^ agreed.

Weston State Hospital and Waverly Hills are the only two that come to mind when you speak of paying money. If it isn't those, I'm curious as to the locations.

If one of them is the silk mill (not sure if they are still going those, I thought those trips were only in April) I would pay the money to check it out since it's a very cool place and you are doing something good for a very underfunded project.

As for Weston it may be worth it. Waverly Hills, not a chance in hell.

I would pay! I need more pics of cool locations, plus I've got my infrared that should make for some really sweet images.

The silk mill is very cool. Definitely go check it out.

Pray it's an overcast day the day you go. When I went it was super sunny outside which made things a little hard to shoot in there. I'm tempted to go back hoping for a cloudy day so I can try to get some better shots.

    Default Silk Mill

Ok guys, it was an amazing place to visit! You people with your nice cameras would love it! I need a better camera to do this sorta of stuff. I think it was worth it. 3 of us went today. Mr. Crawford has been approached by a salvage company to buy the place as is and scrap it. After 33 years of trying to get help, I do not blame him. He is the sweetest man! He just wants to stabilize the building now. And later preserve all the insides as they were left 54 years ago!

    1. This is not changed in any way , the picture is as you see it and enter. Kind of cool door!

I would love to check that place out - and it seems like a great deal. I sent you a message (or tried to), but I'm not sure if it went through because it's not showing up in my sent folder. Can you message me his contact info?

    Thanks!

Looks pretty cool. Maybe someday soon I will have time to get heavy into UE again. If this place is still around It will definitely be on my list.
