Chicks dig big rocks and big snakes. Is that a Cottonmouth?

Those are definetly my two favorite parks for rock scrambling around here, I love the last shot, it really captures the openess of catoctin. The snake by the way is a Norther Banded Water snake, their hourglass pattern of lighter color is less dramtic than a copperheads and the lighter colored bands get wider at the bottom as opposed to the top like on a copperhead. Its really cool you got a pic of one though they usualy hit the water really quick.

Harper's Ferry is a pretty neat day trip.
Truthfully, I am only posting here because I am sick of seeing the word "Bloede" on the main page.

I went up to Catoctin Mtn. a few weeks ago and wound up getting kicked out because G.W. was visiting. Nice shots!

I agree, every time I see "Bloede" I have to pronounce it in my head...

Wow, I went to harpers ferry on the way home from a family reunion once, your shots reminded me just how beautiful that place is. I really would love to get back there someday. Although the whole downtown area would be cuter if it was abandoned. =]
