If chalk is aiding and abetting, then what about writing in dirt? I guess we are all guilty of condoning and encouraging vandalism... for it is our fault that scrappers and vandals found Westport.

People who are going to paint/trash places are going to do it anyways. While we may, at times, point them in the right direction, I don't regret "giving them the idea," for the only way to not do so would be to not explore. At all.

It has been said that time and tide wait for no man. In our hobby, you know that's true.

Default GOT caught, not almost got caught.

There is a crappy nursing home in Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls and Buffalo NY are plagued by scappers. There were 3 of us on this mission.

We unscrewed a board on the window to get into the nursing home. We were snooping around inside for about 5 minutes and went upstairs to take some pictures. The guy we were with came into the room I was in and said there were cops outside and it looked like they were coming in. We tryed to get out of the back door on the oppisite side of the room but it was frozed shut. The guy went out in the hall to go into the next room to try and get out to the back hall but just then the cops came up the stairs.

I could hear, "FREEZE! Hands up against the wall." I realized that I had a crow bar and electric screw driver and no time to ditch them. I did the best I could. Meanwhile they were screaming for me to come out of the room. I did. They had my two friends pinned up against the wall at gun point. They said, "up against the wall" So I went. They asked us if we were stealing copper and we said no we were taking pictures. One of the cops wandered in the room I came out of and came back out with my screw driver. He was yelling at me, "WHAT"S THIS FOR!" I said, "unscrewing stuff." Then he did the damnedest thing. He gave it back to me. They escorted us out and told us not to come back. They really just wanted copper thieves but it was quite scarey.

Wow..thats about as close a call as you can get. Copper theives are the lowest of the low and are helping ruin this hobby of ours. Both by physically destorying the locations we visit, to increasing security, to increasing the authorities paranoia about people at abandoned locations.
"As a community we are united in our struggle, we say yes to life, no to things which threaten to destory us. Today we move towards a lifstyle of human values, based on love, governed by honesty, and secured by trust. No longer do we stand alone. We must be as open as the air, with the will to survive, the will to learn, and the will to create. We are a creative force motivated by each other. For the will of the people is the greatest force conceivable." - written on wall of mental hospital
